The quality label French as a foreign language helps identify, recognize and promote French as a foreign language centers whose language offer and services offer guarantees of quality.

“Sharing a language, bringing cultures together”.

Founded in 1984, the Alliance Française de Lyon is the first French language school based in Lyon.

Every year, more than 1,100 students from 108 different countries come to the Alliance Française de Lyon to learn French in a friendly environment that encourages learning, discovery and dialogue between cultures.

The school is located in Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement, right in the heart of the city, close to the banks of the Rhône. It is served by a multimodal public transport network (metro, tramway, bus, self-service bicycle hire). It is also less than 15 minutes’ walk from the main railway station, Lyon Part Dieu.

At the Alliance Française de Lyon, students benefit from immersion in the cultural world of Lyon, thanks in particular to privileged access to the activities offered by the Alliance’s associative partners (‘city discovery’ activities, dinners with a Lyon family, excursions in the region, wine tasting, ‘language apéros’, etc.).
